Spray gun and coating pump and two essential components of paint spray machine. At robotic paint group, we offer our customer a variety of choice for different painting requirements such as traditional air spraying, airless spraying or electrostatic spraying. Our painting robot will be nicely programmed to work with these specific spray nozzles. We have all these items in stock for quick delivery.
Different Spray Coating Technologies Explained
Air based spraying(or air spraying) is the most popular choice. The principle is to atomize paint particles by compressed air then spray out. The paint volume, atomizing shape and area size etc can be adjusted directly on spray gun. The biggest advantage of this solution is its easy to operate.
In order to make high quality spraying by air based spraying, compressor must be configured with water/oil separator and air drier. The water and oil must be properly filtered before connect with spray gun. Paint use ratio of air spraying normally available between 25%~35%.
Airless spraying is powered by high pressure paint drum then send to spray gun by pressure resistance paint tube. Paint is atomized immediately at gun nozzle then sprayed to product.
Paint particles obtain strong kinetic energy during operation, these particles can reach into the pores on product thus make the paint layer denser, the mechanical contact to product surface is enhanced and adhesion is improved.
Mixed air spraying takes advantages from both airless and air spraying technologies. Paint is pressurized 4~5Mpa. When paint is atomized for spraying, a round shape compressed air curtain(0.1~0.2Mpa) ensures paint will not run everywhere, so paint use ratio is extremely high.
Mixed air spray gun provides large volume paint spray, 10 times more than air spray gun. The paint spray flow width is up to 400mm while air spray range is only 70-100mm. One time spray of mixed air gun can reach a film thickness of 20~50um while air spray gun only 10 to 15 um.
Air mixed spraying can save 20-50% paint waste comparing to air spraying. 20 times more clean than air spraying.
Electrostatic spraying is to charge the product with positive electronic, paint is charged with negative electronic. So it forms a high voltage electrostatic field between spray gun and product. When paint leaves the nozzle, it gets a charge at its edge then further atomized into tiny negatively charged particles.
According to the principle of homosexual repelling and opposite-sex attraction, the negatively charged paint particles are sucked into the object under the action of the electrostatic field, uniformly adsorbed onto product surface then discharge the electronics to complete coating process.
