RPG 6 axis spray painting machine is an industrial automation coating equipment that integrates six degrees of freedom mechanical arm movement and reciprocating spraying trajectory control. It provides efficient and uniform spraying over complex workpieces through coordinated operation of a six-axis servo system and a reciprocating motion mechanism. Robotic arm flexibly positions the spray gun and moves back and forth at high speed, coupled with intelligent control to ensure coating quality. Comparing to traditional setup, we also developped two spray arm option which will double the spray efficiency.

RPG 6 Axis Painting Machine Core Structures
- Six-Axis Servo System: Simulates the movements of the human arm’s shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints to achieve positioning at any spatial orientation, covering full-angle spraying of complex curved workpieces.
- Reciprocating Motion Mechanism: Drives the spray gun to move at high-speed reciprocating linear motion along the X/Y/Z axes through screw rods, guide rails, and synchronous wheels, ensuring coating uniformity.
- Spray Control System: Integrates pneumatic/electric feeding modules, pressure regulating valves, and nozzles (diameter 0.8–1.5mm), supporting various processes such as airless spraying and air spraying.
- Intelligent Control Unit: Uses PLC or touchscreen programming, supporting teach programming, path memory, and collision prevention sensor feedback, enabling unmanned continuous operation.
This device differs from traditional 3-axis or 5-axis spray machines. Its sixth axis is usually the rotation of the spray gun or the workpiece, enabling 360° all-around spraying, significantly improving the coverage efficiency and quality consistency for irregularly shaped parts (such as automotive interior components, toys, and hardware handles).
Working Principle
- Path Planning: The operator sets the spraying trajectory via a teaching pendant or digital input. The system automatically generates the optimal path, avoiding repeated or missed spraying.
- Multi-Axis Coordination: Six-axis synchronized movement allows the spray gun to maintain the optimal angle (usually 90° ± 15°) relative to the workpiece surface, reducing differences in coating thickness.
- Reciprocating Scanning: The spray gun moves back and forth at high speed within a set range (e.g., 200mm × 200mm), combined with workpiece rotation or platform movement, forming a “grid-like” spray coverage.
- Closed-Loop Feedback: Spraying distance (1–200mm), air pressure (0.5–10MPa), and material feed rate are adjusted in real time through photoelectric sensors and pressure monitoring to ensure consistency.
- Environmental Integration: Most models come with a water curtain or filter cotton exhaust collection system, meeting industrial environmental protection standards.
This principle is particularly suitable for coating scenarios that are non-planar, have multiple curvatures, or involve small-batch, multi-variety production, achieving “one clamping, full surface spraying.”
