When considerring a painting system for our business, we have numorous selections and could be misguided if we can’t indepth evaluate our tailored needs. Ideally, we should make full use of the machine to be a powerful backend of our business improvement. If we select a wrong machine, it’s not just about monetary but also a bad affect to our business development. Thus a smart decision is not a single purchase but a tactic to future.
How to choose the most suitable painting machine? Regardless the various choice, there’re basically two options – full automatic and semi automatic. The only difference is how the process being handled through various mechanical devices such as robot or penumatic guns etc. Following we will indepth introduce the two options and guide how to make a tailored machine within allowed budgets.
Full automatic painting machine
Most of the time we call it automatic painting line or spray line. On this painting system, the product is transfered by a conveyor system such as chain spindle or belt. Product will pass through different treatment stations such as electrostatic cleaning, spraying and curing then cooling. During this process, we don’t have to touch the pieces so most human issues could be avoided. We get final painted pieces at the exit door.
Semi automatic painting machine
A semi automatic painting machine or painting system can be considered a part of full automatic option. On this painting system, paint spraying and curing are handled at two different devices. Once after spraying done, we need to manually transfer the painted pieces to a dryer(could be an IR or UV or other type oven/furnace).
The advantage of full automatic painting line
Full automatic line provides the maximum production efficiency after initial configuration and tests. Especially when we only have a few products but with big quantity production, a full automatic painting line system is absolutely ideal choice as we need maximum productivity with almost no change on existing flow.
A full automatic painting line mostly provides a relatively simple control system and don’t require high professional technicians to maintain. Most parts are mechanical production for easy handling. Only require one time installation/configuration then we just need to start and stop as per requirement. Even some components broken, we can replace quickly with minimum downtime.
The advantage of semi automatic painting line
Semi automatic painting line is small size and very flexible system comparing to full automatic option. The only difference is the spraying and curing are handled in two different devices. Spraying can be manual or robotic when necessary. Because we don’t have to keep the machine always running, it’s pretty energy saving for small quantity production.
Another highlight point of semi automatic machine is we can deal with various products spraying requirements as we can manual or robotic programming for specific objects. Since the dryer and spray device are separated, we only need small space for configuration and we can upgrade easily when necessary. When we have limited budget, it’s a good start.
As all above description, when we have following conditions we can go for a full automatic painting machine:
- big quantity production
- easy to handle pieces by automatic line
- stable and continous production
Because when using an automatic painting line, the productivity is pretty high. It’s the best choice for manufacturer instead of a painting factory. If we only do painting work, we have to evaluate the orders and future business development, or else we don’t have to invest too big. Most of the time we need to make clean room system with air conditioning, so it’s a complex work and we need supplier’s onsite configuration service. But for a semi automatic machine, we can easily handle by our own team and reduce a lot of potential costs.
Choosing a suitable painting machine and production mode is quite important tactic, it’s not just about money but the sword for business.
