Photo-catalyst paint or known as self cleaning paint is a special coating on building glass or ceramic production. This coating can create a super-hydrophilic glass surface, lubricate the glass when it rains, and take away contaminants such as dust through the sliding of the water film, it also has anti-fog and antibacterial effects. Once the glass or ceramic is painted by this type coating, there is no need for regular cleaning by workers.
The photo-catalyst coating is great in performance but it’s not easy to apply well on glass. We need either a professional technician or use a pre-programmed robot to spray properly for mass production purpose. Following is the coating spraying requirements
To spray photo-catalyst coating perfectly under mass production, it’s normally by conveyorised automatic painting system. One set horizontal belt conveyor to carry the glass and moves forward at the same speed, above is a robotic spray gun reciprocated moving to spray out the coating smoothly. Paint atomizing and fluid volume as well as speed are all central control on touch panel. After properly sprayed, the conveyor will send the glass to a dryer directly for quick curing.
More about photo-catalyst coating
After a special titanium dioxide (TiO2) absorbs ultraviolet rays from the sun and uv lamps, it will convert the oxygen and water molecules around it into a highly reactive active oxygen layer, which in turn can convert surrounding organic substances (formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, ammonia, bacteria, etc.) are decomposed into water and CO2. This effect is called photocatalyst effect.
Roof or wall surface of the buildings are naturally exposed to the outside air and mostly get dirty and stained with dust, smokes, etc. When the surface of roof or walls get dirty and stained, reflectivity of the light lowers, so that the roof or wall is likely to absorb heat, resulting in lowering of the heat insulation effect.
To this situation, its known to mix in to the paint a photo-catalyst which is able to prevent pollution or decompose pollute substances and cause them to be flowed with rain. Catalyzing function of the photo-catalyst facilitates that any organic substances, etc., adhered on the surface of roof or wall are decomposed, and dispensed into the air or washed away.
Test results show that the nano-photocatalyst coating has a washing resistance of more than 15,000 times and a strong anti-ultraviolet ability. The service life is more than 15 years. Strong adhesion, no peeling, no peeling, anti-aging, normal construction within -10 ℃ to -25 ℃ environment. It’s a super environmental friendly coating.
